Wow, that was some break I took from blogging. The good news is I am back so hang on tight for a quick recap of the last few months in our household and gear up for the exciting adventure to come!
First things first. We sold our first house! Gasp! I can not believe I did not share this story with you, but it all happened so quickly. We had plans for adding on and renovating the home, but it didn’t work out in the end. We put it on the market and it was under contract within three days, then we closed in thirty days, and the rest is history.
We also bought a new (to us) home and moved about two miles away. I immediately fell in love with this dreamy coastal home with a large yard and old oak trees draped in spanish moss. I am always hesitant to show photos of our home, I want you all to know how incredibly blessed we are to live in such a beautiful home, with very little worries compared to much of the world. It is impossible for me to wrap my head around how we landed here, but we did and I am forever grateful. I do not want to come across as treasuring our “things” over our “moments” but I do love sharing the beauty in home design and our adventures in renovations.
I don’t know about you, but moving a short distance is almost worse than a long distance. I would know, I have moved 12 times since college. So by “new” to us, I mean a newer home with a lot of issues and renovations needed. In the first week, the refrigerator broke, we had plumbing issues, one A/C unit broke, and we had a water leak with major damage. We did not think we were getting a “fixer upper,” but we sure did a lot of fixing. This delayed my plans for renovating because most of the budget went to home repairs. More to come on all of that at a later date, because I can’t wait to share posts on our renovations. I will be sharing each individual project as it’s own post.
So cheers to moving, we obviously have something for green homes with gas lanterns. I hope we don’t move again for a long, long time!
Now, if you’re asking yourself, why did they do all of this? Well…. I am proud to announce our new baby girl, Cecilia “Celia” Rose. Soon after sharing our experience with pregnancy loss, we were shocked with another pregnancy. She is healthy as can be and we rejoice in our little blessing. Micah is really excited about his little “cee-ster” and refers to her as “mine baby” and “baby ce-ce.” Oh, and if you’re wondering how to pronounce her name. Think “SEE – lee – uh” like “C-leah.”
Now that you are up to speed, I am so excited to blog again. Make sure you are following me on Instagram where a majority of my content is shared. Also, sign up for my newsletter so you receive an email when I share a blog post.
