Decorating Our Home Office with Vintage Revival Rugs
With everyone spending more time at home, it was becoming more important to create a home office where I can escape and work. As a design enthusiast, I wanted to create a calming and serene space with all of my favorite things. For this design, I knew I wanted a blue vintage rug, natural wood tones, a lot of white, and live plants. I plan to add builtins with a Murphy bed on the wall behind the desk. I’m waiting on the design approval for that project and cannot wait to share it soon!
The rug I chose is a one-of-a-kind vintage rug, handwoven and handknotted in Demirci, Turkey. It is 100% wool pile on cotton foundation. I love the floral motifs with a crosshatched fade and distressed appearance.
I cannot get over how this rug elevated the design of our home. From the moment when you walk in the front doors, the office is the first thing you see to the right. The new rug added just enough color to set the mood for our home.
