If you’re following along on Instagram, I am working on several projects for our master bedroom makeover. First, I purchased a canopy bed on clearance and I am wrapping it with hemp cording to have a woven seagrass look. Second, I am installing picture frame molding to the walls. Third, I am using a paint sprayer to paint the entire room when I’m finished with the molding. Fourth, I’m updating the rest of the furniture and swapping out some of the decor! So let’s jump in and explore some of my plans next.
Woven Canopy Bed
I have wanted to update our bed for several years now. I loved the style of our master bedroom but it never felt like “me.” I was inspired by this designer woven bed, but the price tag was not in my budget. Therefore, I decided to make my own. I have shared the full tutorial for the Woven Canopy Bed here.

Picture Frame Molding and Paint
When it comes to projects that require power tools, I typically shy away. I have always relied on my husband to help with the projects and he doesn’t exactly love DIY. I recently decided that I am going to complete my own projects. This past week, I used my miter saw and a nail gun for the first time! I also overcame my fear of the lumber aisles in the hardware stores. While I started the molding project with my miter saw, I found an easier method that saved me from running back and forth from the hot garage. I will share the entire project details with you soon! For now, here is the layout for my project!

Master Bedroom Decor Refresh with Coastal Style
I am a visual person and seeing these items in a mood board has been helpful. I’m currently shopping for a new rug, nightstands, and lamps. Rugs are so hard select. I love the look of a vintage hand-knotted rug, but we need a 9×12 for the space. Vintage area rugs in that size are very expensive. I have found a great alternatives though by layering a vintage rug on a large bleached jute rug. Which rug do you love the best?

I also love the look of wide nightstands. I previously shared several options in this 50+ Wide Nightstands for Every Budget post. For this project, I would like to use white nightstands. Here are few of my favorite options!
I already love how this room is coming together and cannot wait to share the finished details with you soon! Until then, follow my progress on Instagram and sign up for email updates so you don’t miss the updates.
