Not So Fancy Friday
Welcome to my weekly update! Each Friday, I’ll share a glimpse into my life, offering a fresh perspective on my wellness routine, a recipe we tried, or other simple joys from the week. In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we often overlook the stories that shape our days. My goal is to celebrate the beauty in the mundane and find rest in simplicity. Thank you for joining me on this journey. Here is a peek into my morning routine.

Friday Morning Routine
Mornings around here start early—and I mean before the sun early. My kids are sometimes up by 6AM and on occassion they’re earlier, so I’ve had to find small ways to ground myself and bring a little intention into the start of the day. It doesn’t always go as planned, but this routine has become a rhythm I look forward to.
Prayer & Scripture First
The very first thing I do before getting out of bed is start my morning in prayer. I thank God for the blessings, ask Him about dreams I just had, pray protection over my people, and sometimes just sit in silence for a few minutes. Then before anything else—is my Bible. It’s the most important part of my morning, even if it sometimes gets paused when little feet start running down the hallway.
I’ve been journeying through a few books lately that have helped recenter my thoughts and remind me where to root my day. If I can’t get through it all in the early hours, I always try to come back to it once the kids are off to school. That quiet time, just me and the Lord, has been so grounding. It’s how I realign my heart with truth and peace before the world asks anything of me. Going to God, my Vine, is truly what shapes the tone of my day.
Coffee Routine
Next stop: the coffee corner (and trust me, it’s needed). I’ve been completely obsessed with my Breville Espresso Machine—it creates the perfect, café-style shot every single time. I pair it with Lifeboost Organic Espresso from Amazon—it’s clean, low-acid, and tastes amazing. And I just added this bamboo appliance slider underneath that makes the whole setup so much more functional. I swear, it’s the small things that feel like a luxury. I’ll froth up some milk or collagen and savor those first few sips in my favorite cozy mug.

Morning Workouts
After coffee, I usually sneak in a quick workout. Lately, I’ve been rotating between sculpt and higher intensity workouts, but Friday calls for a fun dance class—it’s all about moving my body without punishment. I’ve been loving these Target leggings and workout top that feel so close to Lululemon but are so much more budget-friendly. I roll out my Lululemon workout mat and lace up my New Balance sneakers to get going. It’s simple, doable, and gives me just the energy I need to carry into the rest of the morning. Skincare
Skincare is next—because when your day starts at 5am, you need all the help you can get! I love these caffeine eye patches from Amazon. They feel like amazing when I’m extra puffy or sleep-deprived. Then I keep it light with makeup—most days, I reach for my basics. Just a swipe of skin tint, a little blush, and brow pencil to feel polished but still like myself.
Breakfast
And finally… worship music + something nourishing. I head to the kitchen and turn on some worship music (my favorite playlist here)—it’s the background soundtrack while I prep breakfast, and it sets such a peaceful tone for the day ahead. Breakfast is usually simple but nourishing. If I’m craving something light, I whip up a smoothie with my go-to ingredients: frozen bananas, a scoop of almond butter, vanilla protein powder—I love both Truvani and Just Ingredients—plus collagen, ice, and almond or coconut milk. It’s creamy, packed with protein, and sooo yummy. Other days, I’ll do scrambled eggs and a fresh slice of homemade sourdough. I’ll share that full recipe and routine in a future post, because it’s a good one.
Morning Rhythms
These little rhythms help set the day—first quiet time with the Lord, a strong coffee, intentional movement, and a nourishing breakfast—all help to start my day with clarity and joy. I hope this glimpse into my Friday morning inspires you to slow down and savor the beauty in your own everyday rhythm.
Not So Fancy Friday
As you go into the weekend, here is some inspiration that is not so fancy.
