I’ve spent years combing through the Amazon website in search of great home decor. It has been trial and error and I’m sharing my tips with you in this post. Amazon has become one of my favorite retailers for home decor, fashion, and every day essentials in my home.

Designer Looks for Less

Achieving a designer look on a budget is possible and home decor on Amazon is a great place to start. With endless amounts of items available, it can be a daunting task to find your favorites. I’ve put together a few tips for searching for home decor on Amazon.

How to Search for High-End Items

When searching, use high-end characteristics as search terms, like “linen” and “antiqued brass.”
Always look at the reviews of an item, the stock image is not always accurate.
The next time you’re in a home decor store, flip the item over and look for the brand name. Sometimes the item description is on the tag. Make note of this and keep a list of these items to search for on Amazon.
Search for your favorite designer brands and Amazon will give suggestions that are similar.
If you’re hesitant to buy from other countries, filter your search to your country only.

Scalloped rugs are very on trend right now, but they’re also a classic design as well. This playful pattern looks great in every room and adds a fun touch! One of my favorite items to source from Amazon Home is faux plants. A maidenhair fern looks great in any pot through all seasons and adds the perfect designer look to a room.

Selecting lighting is one of the most important steps in designing your home. Lighting can elevate a space tremendously. However, lighting purchases can be expensive and can add up. I curated several ways to save on overhead lighting like chandeliers and pendants along with sconces and more!

Brass Lighting

Brass lighting used to be considered outdated, but it has made a huge comeback in recent years. Now you will see brass lighting in trendy homes, but it is also timeless and can be used in a variety of decor styles. It is a great option if you’re mixing different metals and finishes in your home. For example, using overhead brass pendant lighting in a kitchen with stainless steel appliances looks great. Or, you can add brass wall sconces above a bed to create warmth in a space.

Beaded Chandeliers

Beaded chandeliers were ultra-popular during the farmhouse trend and were widely used when fans wanted to create the Chip and Joanna look in their home. While farmhouse is on it’s way out, I believe beaded chandeliers are here to stay and can still be used as an on-trend design. There are several different types of beaded chandeliers, like wood bead chandeliers, glass bead chandeliers, and more. The wood bead chandelier is the most popular and versatile option, seen in several high-end homes. We have owned a few different beaded chandeliers and currently have a beautiful designer light hanging in our breakfast nook. Not in your budget? Bathroom Lighting

Selecting lighting for your bathroom can be super overwhelming. So much depends on your setting, natural sunlight coming through, and mirrors in the space to name a few. You will need to select proper placement to ensure adequate lighting while getting ready. Ask yourself if you will need overhead lighting or wall lighting. How many fixtures will you need for the space? When selecting bathroom lighting, Amazon has several great affordable options!

Bathroom Decor & Accessories

While function is key in bathroom, it’s always fun to add home decor for a special touch. You don’t have to break the bank with decor for a bathroom and here are a few of my favorites items!

This white vase has always been a favorite of my mine and I’m so excited it found a great space in the bathroom.

When installing new Zellige tile in our bathroom, I wanted the space to feel earthy and chic at the same time. These soap dispensers come in several varieties with different color pumps. I spray painted our pumps to match the antique brass in our bathroom.

I recommend adding personal touches and storage to small niches or nooks in the bathroom. These sponges look great in acrylic storage canisters when paired with a faux fern.

Coffee Table Books

Amazon is a great place to purchase beautiful books to use for home decor. Placing books on your coffee table adds height and creates interest. Books are a great way to share your surroundings like The Color Tiel by a local artist. My favorite coffee table books are both bright and beautiful with coastal illustrations. Faux Stems

Adding green to every room creates a cozy and livable space. There are beautiful faux stem options available at Amazon. I’ve used this real-touch eucalyptus for years and it looks great in a small vase or tucked into garland during the holidays. I love arranging larger stem eucalyptus in an oversized vase. Finally, these long stems are a show stopper and look like they’re from Pottery Barn, but at a much lower price tag.

We have an abundance of baskets in our home and I use them for everything. From storing toys to hiding blankets and using as planters, baskets are a staple in my home. Baskets can vary in texture, shape, and size. They look great when grouped together and set apart. Baskets add warmth and texture to an otherwise boring space. You can never have too many in design!

One of my absolute favorite places to shop for holiday home decor is Amazon. Several small boutiques and decor brands keep seasonal items readily available on Amazon. In the past, I’ve used garland, wreaths, and more to decorate my home for the holidays. Adding harmony bells to holiday garland with a simple bow is classic and never goes out of style. I also use the bells for our wreaths!

It has been a difficult time to source furniture and outdoor accessories due to delays. I’ve found that Amazon has an ample supply of seasonal items that are tough to find in more stores during the off-season. Adding outdoor string lights to a space adds ambiance, along with lanterns and outdoor candles. We added this large white pergola as a space to lounge with shade.

First things first, you don’t need a Prime membership to enjoy Amazon. Anyone can shop at Amazon. With that being said, you will see many benefits to an Amazon Prime Membership. The perks of membership change with time and promotions, but the biggest perk is fast and free shipping and returns on several items.

For someone that decorates and like to see and feel items in person, this is a huge perk to shopping for Amazon Home items. A picture can only do so much and I love that I can easily send items back if they do not work! Lately, many items are eligible for SAME – DAY shipping also. I mean, that’s huge! You don’t have to leave the house and your items will arrive the same day. As a busy mom, I love this feature.
