A Serene Sanctuary
You would never believe this room belongs to a child, unless you do a roundabout and see all of the fun toys! I didn’t capture those areas in this blog post, but I’ll share how we organize the space soon. I’m sharing this because while it was designed for my daughter, I think it’s perfect for an adult also. It’s simple, serene, and so lovely!
Light and Airy Color Palette
The foundation of coastal cottage decor lies in its color palette. The bedroom in the first image is a perfect example of how to use color to create a serene and inviting space. The walls and ceiling are painted a crisp, clean white – Chantilly Lace, which helps to reflect natural light and make the room feel larger and more open.

The spindle design of the bedposts reminds me of traditional cottage furniture. The bedding is simple yet cozy, with white linen and a simple floral pattern that adds interest without overwhelming the space. MY favorite rug in the house is this blended jute rug with a floral pattern. Jute is a natural fiber that adds an earthy texture, perfect for a coastal-themed room.
