Summer Projects
We’ve recently been focusing a lot of our energy on the exterior of our home and it’s been so fun to watch the transformation take place! From exterior paint to a new patio to outdoor lighting, these changes have made such a big difference in the entire aesthetic of our coastal home and I can’t wait to continue making improvements this summer with the help of Lowe’s.
I’ve put in a lot of work on our home exterior over the last several years and I want our backyard to flow naturally with the rest of my design decisions. From the prettiest planters and pots to classic patio sets to elegant plants and topiaries, Lowe’s has everything I need to give me the French Country garden of my dreams at a price I’m happy with.
We’re currently working on a DIY garden and pergola to complete our backyard transformation. We got a few quotes from some local companies to come build these for us but were shocked at the price. After doing some research, we discovered that we could easily get everything we need at a budget-friendly price at Lowe’s. Being a DIY enthusiast myself, I’m no stranger to getting my hands dirty and this has been a fun project to tackle alongside my husband. Plus it’s so rewarding seeing all our hard work pay off!
We’re taking this project nice and slow (we have no choice with three kids and the end of school approching!). We’re doing 5 raised cedar garden beds right off of our patio surrounded by a really pretty white and beige river rock. The boxes were pre-constructed so putting them together was a breeze. The kids were even able to help us a bit and they loved being a part of the process!
This wheelbarrow was such a big help for our project. It has two large wheels and rolls very easily, helping my back as I wheeled several loads of dirt and stone into the backyard.
I plan on doing a mix of flowers, herbs, and vegetables in my beds that we can enjoy (and hopefully eat!) all summer long. I also got a start with herbs and a few plants at a great price, Lowe’s has a great deal on Bonnie’s Plants and garden soil for the holiday sales.

We got started on the DIY pergola and hope to finish it soon using PVC and composite materials from Lowe’s to ensure that the pergola is not only sturdy, but also easy to maintain and clean. It’s going to be so pretty with our climbing roses spilling over – I can’t wait to the entire process start to finish.
