Coastal Living Room Inspiration for Our Living Room Makeover

Our living room makeover has been in the works for a few months now. Remember when I shared a Coastal Living Room – Ten Different Ways? I was prepping for this living room makeover! With Covid shipping delays, I imagine it will be completed in a few months. While we’re waiting on our new furniture to arrive, I am going to share inspiration with you today!

Four Seasons Furniture

Our original Klaussner sofas were too large for the space. When we started the process of buying our home, I ordered them in a rush to have them arrive on moving day. One thing that I have learned in design, do not rush and make hurried decisions. They were beautiful sofas and extremely comfortable, but they were too large for the space. They did not leave room for end tables and accent chairs. I decided to downsize to leave room for accent furniture. Our previous sofas were 93″ long and our new sofas are 78″ long.

I ordered the Jordan sofas from Four Seasons Furniture through Celadon Home. These are custom sofas and take 8-10 weeks to arrive on top of Covid delays. They are made in North Carolina and the manufacturers have been shut down during the “Stay At Home” orders. We hope they will arrive in July!

I also decided it is time for childproof slipcovers. I went with crypton fabric to help with daily messes. The exact color that I ordered: Crypton Nomad in Snow.

Dash & Albert Rug
If you have children or pets, Dash & Albert rugs are your new best friend. They are durable and made to withstand everyday use. The style I purchased is indoor/outdoor and is so soft underfoot. It does not have that shiny sheen that you find on most outdoor rugs. Best part? You can clean it with a water hose! It has already arrived and I plan to reveal it this week!

Accent Furniture
We absolutely love, love, love our swivel rockers in the living room. Unfortunately, I made a mistake in ordering the tan linen. It clashes with everything I do in the room. Ordering new slipcovers is an option, but for the price, I can just order new chairs. I plan to disperse the swivel chairs in other rooms of our home. I have wanted spool accent chairs for our living room for as long as I can remember! Remember when I purchased one on marketplace and tried to reupholster it? I could not find a perfect match so I decided to sell it and buy two matching chairs. Here is the catch, MAJOR delays. I finally found these chairs and while I fear they may not be a perfect shade of white, I will work with them. If they are too warm, I will paint them! I ordered the “Max Buff” color because we have had that color in the past and I’m praying it’s a great match for the sofas!

I have also wanted a coffee table for the longest time! I went back and forth while deciding what kind of coffee table to include in this room. What are some things that I considered while making the decision? We need a coffee table that is kid friendly without sharp corners. We also want something durable. I love the look of woven natural style coffee tables and ottomans, but I am concerned about their durability with children. Therefore, I ordered this chic white table from Serena & Lily.

Art + Additional Decor

You cannot go wrong with a large coastal painting in your living room. It will liven up the space! I am featuring “Awake My Soul” by Fallon Peper in this design inspiration. I also included abstract pieces for inspiration. It’s no secret that I love baskets of all shapes, sizes, and colors. I included several different types in the design. Big pretty coastal themed books are great for the coffee table and end tables. You can adda personal touch with chat books. Finally, add in plants of all shapes and sizes to freshen up the room.
I can’t wait to share our living room makeover with you all soon! Hopefully items will start arriving soon! Have a wonderful week!
