Coastal Living Room Makeover – Splurge & Save
It is no secret that I redecorate my house when the seasons change. After the hustle and bustle of Christmas and a house stuffed to the brim with green, I find myself with a clean slate come January. While I’m not ready to go full tilt into spring or summer, I’m able to add a few pastel touches here or there to make the transition go smoothy and decorate my coastal living room.
As January arrived, I found myself with a tan rug, two linen club chairs, and two lighter linen sofas. Hello monotone. I did this for a reason because it’s so easy to change my decor as my preferences change. However, I’m craving color, just not green. When searching for rugs, I tried a denim blue rug and while I absolutely loved it, it appeared too purple in our lighting. Then I started looking at natural fiber rugs with texture. I finally found the one that I love and you can read about next.

Coastal Living Room Inspiration: How to Decorate with Coastal Style
Rugs for a Coastal Living Room
I went with this Bealeton Area Rug from Boutique Rugs because I love the texture it adds to the neutral room. It is made by Surya and constructed of 70% cotton and 30% wool. You can receive 55% off of your entire purchase from Boutique Rugs using the discount code COASTAL55. Please read, I advise against using this specific rug in a high traffic area. It is handwoven and not ideal under chair legs that move, running pets, and children playing with toys. I’ve included several rugs here that are more durable for those types of areas!
