Master Bedroom Inspiration

| |

When decorating our homes, why do we wait and finish the master bedrooms last? This has been true in the last three homes I have decorated. Our master bedroom should be our oasis to retreat to daily, but it’s just a hodgepodge mess and begging for a makeover. With the start of 2019, I have decided to complete my master bedroom. I’m going to start by sharing inspiration for my designs, then products I am eyeing, and a design board.

Wishlist

While a lot of these items are on my wishlist, they are not reality. As always, I promise to scour consignment stores, local vendors, and online discount shops for items similar to these!

Pillows

I am a sucker for pillows. I currently own more pillows than pairs of shoes. I love them and cannot get enough. Unfortunately, this is an expensive habit and while I love to drool of these pillow ideas, I doubt I will be spending my entire budget on these this time around!

Lamps

I am all over the place with lamps. I’m not quiet sure which style I will go with, but I love all of these for inspiration.

Accessories

A simple vase with greenery like these Olive Stems from Magnolia Market would be beautiful on the dresser also.
This Target Clock would be cute on one of the nightstands.
I also love this Pottery Barn Clock for a nightstand.
I hope to put an oversized mirror above the dresser like this one from West Elm.
I love the idea of baskets on the wall above the bed like these from Olive and Iris.

Tassel Blankets

I love these oversized tassel blankets. I think they give the perfect amount of texture to your bed.

Rugs

I plan on layering a 8×10 rug on top of a larger jute rug. Very similar to our playroom setup.

Projects

The first project for our master bedroom will include making over a few pieces of furniture. This is our current dresser and bedside table set. While I love them, they are too dark when paired with our black bed. They are well made and we got them for a steal on Craigslist many years ago.

First, I will need to paint the nightstands. I will be using Fusion paint for this project. Next, I will either strip down the dresser to it’s raw wood. I will decide at that point if I will leave it raw, stain it, or paint it. Finally, I will replace the hardware or paint the existing hardware on all of the furniture. Here is some inspiration for the bedside tables and dresser.
